Jessica Rechner is a visual artist and vocalist. She is a daughter, sister, wife, mother and friend. She sings classical, some jazz and a little pop. Her mixed media art examines, considers and challenges concepts of body, autonomy, emotionality, family, memory and belonging. Jessica is one of seven children, grew up on Long Island and has lived in Queens, NY for the past 25 years. Married 30 years to Bill, they have two grown children, Cecilia and Claudia. As founder of the ‘Creative Expression with Scripture’ art group, Jessica fosters an atmosphere of prayerful exploration of the life interior and facilitates an artistic response with various materials. When she is not creating or singing, Jessica works at a large non-denominational, multi-racial church in Elmhurst, Queens as their Sunday Service Coordinator. Jessica’s favorite place to be is at the beach: salt + sand + sea = JOY

Each collage is hand drawn, hand painted, hand cut from various source materials and hand glued. Jessica is working on two other series: Empty Nest and She Sings! Jessica’s work has been shown with LIC-Artists at The Factory and at Culture Lab LIC.
